Cheryl Fitzgerald, DVM,
Dr. Fitzgerald graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine after completing her undergraduate work at Southwest Texas State University. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, American Quarter Horse Association, Capital Area Quarter Horse Association, and Missouri Fox Trotter Association. Dr. Fitzgerald purchased the South First Pet Hospital in 2002 from Dr. L. B. Kubiak.

Dr. Fitzgerald lives on a small ranch with her sister Pat, brother Eric and niece Erin. Cheryl and Pat raise and sell miniature (Mediterranean) donkeys (Cripplecreekcritters.com). The family shares their home with donkeys, horses, longhorns, dogs, cats, an iguana and a hooded rat. Dr. Fitzgerald’s youngest cat, Sprite, was actually born at South First Pet Hospital. Dr. Fitzgerald is shown with Beau Dunk, and Tina; and with Belle, Ester, and Tina.
